Emdeon takes data privacy seriously. We have a long history of protecting the privacy and security of patient and other data, and we enthusiastically support the HIPAA privacy standards. Emdeon has implemented the HIPAA Privacy regulations through a coordinated corporate effort to identify all uses of protected information, reinforce and develop policies to protect that information, and to train all affected Emdeon employees on their obligations under HIPAA.
As part of its privacy compliance, Emdeon will supply its customers with the required Business Associate Agreement for customer signature. This agreement represents that Emdeon will maintain the privacy of protected healthcare information (PHI) received in the course of normal business activities.
In addition, Emdeon uses advanced security technologies to protect the information it processes from intrusion.
