Corporate Social Responsibility
Emdeon engages in a corporate effort to provide the communities we serve with outreach through a targeted corporate responsibilities plan. We have participated in numerous charitable organizations' events across the country and continue to have scheduled events year round. Emdeon encourages employees to volunteer for charitable activities by providing paid time off to full-time regular employees up to two days per year. In 2009 and 2010 our employees committed over 4,000 volunteer hours... and that was just during the work week. Many also participated in activities on evenings and weekends.
In addition, we support many charitable organizations like the American Red Cross, Soles4Souls, Second Harvest Food Bank, Susan G. Komen for the Cure and many more. But we don't just look outside of our walls. In 2011, we introduced Hands Across Emdeon, a charitable organization specifically created to provide disaster relief or emergency hardship grants to Emdeon employees in times of need.
Wellness
Our wellness program is employee driven, designed to create a culture of health and encourages cross-departmental interaction (and even a little healthy competition). Using a collaborative intranet site, it's easy for employees to connect with one another. Employees are free to lead or join any of the activities available, such as the Walking or Running Club, Golf Club, Volleyball Club, or the Softball team. We want that list to keep growing and welcome employees to start new activities!
Through our insurance provider, Emdeon employees also have access to a number of online wellness tools, like personal wellness coaches and an expansive discount program, aimed at supporting their personal wellness goals.
Emdeon Green
"Emdeon Green" isn't just the name of our corporate color, it's what we call being environmentally conscience. We fulfill our corporate mission of making healthcare efficient by enabling our customers to reduce their paper consumption through electronic transaction and payment processing. Examples of ways we apply this principle internally are by offering recycling centers and by implementing electronic recordkeeping and paperless processes in departments across the organization.
