Features

  • eRx, in partnership with SureScripts-RxHub, checks member eligibility with the nation's largest pharmacy benefit managers (PBMs), including Aetna, Argus, Caremark, Express Scripts, Medco, Pharmacare, Prime Therapeutics, Wellpoint Net-Rx and many others. eRx CardFinder also checks for Medicare eligibility.
  • For pharmacies with pharmacy management software systems that are certified for eRx CardFinder, eligibility requests may be sent via their existing pharmacy system.
  • For pharmacy management software systems that are not yet certified for eRx CardFinder, benefit eligibility inquiries may be made via an intuitive web utility that is conveniently accessed through the eRx Network website. The eRx CardFinder web utility accommodates Medicare Part D, Medicare A/B and commercial coverages.
  • eRx CardFinder's automatic post-edit feature may be enabled to automatically send eligibility inquiries for third-party rejects due to non-coverage. This feature also works within eRx Network's electronic prescribing service, eRx Pad, to further improve your pharmacy's workflow by performing automatic, real-time eligibility inquiries for new prescriptions.
  • Both eRx CardFinder service utility options use the same transaction type and format as the TrOOP Medicare Eligibility transactions. Pharmacies that use eRx CardFinder are required to send the following patient information: first and last name, date of birth, gender, zip code and social security (at least the last four digits).
  • A real-time response from eRx CardFinder returns to the pharmacy any information that is provided by the PBM. This information may include: BIN, PCN, cardholder ID, group number, person code and processor helpdesk phone number.
  • eRx CardFinder returns all cardholder information for all coverages found (i.e. primary, secondary and tertiary).
