Leading Health Information Network Achieves Recertification

Nashville, TN (August 6, 2007) – Emdeon Business Services announced today it has achieved reaccreditation by the Electronic Healthcare Network Accreditation Commission (EHNAC) and is now EHNAC accredited through August 2009. Emdeon Business Services provides revenue cycle management and clinical communication solutions that enables payers, providers and patients to improve healthcare business processes. Emdeon’s extensive health information network processes more than 3.5 billion transactions annually.

The reaccreditation required a comprehensive reevaluation of business processes and network infrastructure and validates Emdeon’s commitment to adhering to EHNAC’s high technical, security and privacy standards.

“We take great pride in our EHNAC accreditation”, said George Lazenby, CEO of Emdeon Business Services. “It reinforces our ongoing commitment to providing high quality revenue cycle solutions for our provider, payer and vendor customers.”

Lee Barrett, executive director of EHNAC, said “Emdeon Business Services is part of a select group of clearinghouses that have demonstrated to independent third party evaluators their ability to deliver their services consistent with the only standards in the industry that measures the overall business practices of a clearinghouse.”

About EHNAC

EHNAC's function is to promote administrative simplification and cost savings in the healthcare industry and to provide the healthcare transaction industry with an independent capability to develop industry standards, known as EHNAC Criteria. • Fosters consistency in transmitted information.
  • Enhances customer service and satisfaction. ("Customers" include providers, payers, intermediaries and third parties.)

The EHNAC Commission seeks to accredit entities that send or receive HIPAA regulated transactions, or that transport or process EDI transactions between two or more trading partners in the healthcare community.
